Scouts become the first people to camp inside the Great Glasshouse
A small group of 5th Carmarthen Scouts who are working towards their Silver or Gold Dragon Awards, became the first people to camp inside the Great Glasshouse at the National Botanic Garden of Wales in February!
There was a real Jurassic Park feeling camping among the unusual plants, and waking to the very loud dawn chorus of the resident sparrow population.
We are very grateful to the staff of the NBGW for allowing us to use the glasshouse for our ''camp in an unusual place''

Scouts Cycle Expedition
On a cold and showery weekend at the end of April, Scouts from 5th Carmarthen cycled from Trecastle to Llangadog, taking in the Usk Reservoir on the way. Despite the weather a great and muddy time was had by all. On the Saturday night we camped at the Black Mountain Camp site in Llanddeusant - with fantastic views up towards Llyn y Fan. We arrived in Llanddeusant just in time for feeding time at the Red Kite Station - a real highlight of the weekend. On Sunday we cycled back to Llangadog via Myddfai, learning a bit about the legend of the Llyn y Fan and the Physicians of Myddfai on the way. Another fantastic active weekend. Well done all!
