Scouts go Go Karting!
Following our theme of engines and mechanics, the last meeting of the half term was a trip to the Indoor Go Karting Centre in Haverfordwest. And what a night it was!
Scouts did a 20 lap circuit against the clock and against each other. There were crashes, spins and grim expressions! But a huge amount of fun and many requests to do it again - they've been told to save their pocket money.
On Thursday evening new Scouts Lloyd, Joseph and Owen were invested in a go kart - this may be one of the coolest places yet to have taken your Scout promise. Da iawn bechgyn.

This term the Scouts have been learning all about engines and car maintenance in order to achieve their Mechanic Badge.
We are very grateful to the staff at the Automotive Centre at Coleg Sir Gar for allowing us to use their wonderful facilities for the Scouts to get some real hands on experience as mechanics!
We would also like to thank Myrddin Garden Machinery and Mansel Griffiths and son, for providing us with lawnmower engines for the Scouts to learn about the principles of the combustion engine, Also to Delme Owens of Carmarthenshire Tyre Service who supplied us with wheels and tyres for teaching purposes.
